Attention Football players

The 2024 Football season is fast approaching.  Practices will begin on Thursday August 22 at 3:30pm.

The practice schedule for the season will be as follows: 

Practice Schedule

Monday: 3:30-5:45            Tuesday: 3:30-5:45           Wednesday: 3:30-5:45

Thursday: 3:30-5:45  - ONLY if there is a game scheduled for FRIDAY.

Football is a sport that requires a considerable amount of practice for players to be safe, prepared and successful. The Crusader football coaching staff recognizes that there may be players who are multi sport athletes within the school sports programs and within the community sports programs. Multi sport athletes are strongly encouraged to communicate with coaches any conflicts that may affect practices, games, tournaments and travel. Additionally, that same courtesy is extended to athletes who may have a part time job. It is imperative to initiate a conversation with the employer ASAP in order to get the time off to attend all practices and games.

The expectation is that athletes will inform the head coach and coaching staff of any scheduling conflicts or known absences as early as possible in order to build a plan that is functional for all parties.

Coach Fransoo will have further details for the season when camp opens.

John Paul II September Newsletter

Our Crusader Football team picked up their first win of the season with a 38-33 win over Humboldt. We played a great first half and had a 31-13 lead at half time. Humboldt tried to come back, but the defence held when needed most and the offense controlled the ball for the final 3 min to preserve the win. 

The team is now 1-1 and head to Kindersley next Friday for our first road game.
